The Bottleneck: Trapped by His Own Growth
Shawn Ragell had a problem every growing agency faces: he was turning down over $50,000 in potential revenue because he couldn’t guarantee content delivery. He had the clients, the strategy expertise, and proven results in B2B SaaS SEO. What he didn’t have was reliable content execution.
Shawn works with enterprise and growth-stage companies including Rainforest, Cognota, FieldPulse, and ProcureDesk. He was delivering 15-20 articles monthly across multiple clients, but the operation was barely holding together.
His process looked like most growing consultancies. He managed freelancers through Upwork, wrote detailed briefs for each piece, spent hours editing drafts, and chased deadlines weekly. The system worked, technically. But it wasn’t sustainable.
The Quality Lottery
Most freelancers didn't understand B2B SaaS. Before briefing on a client, Shawn had to explain enterprise buyer fundamentals. Even trained writers needed 2-3 hours of editing per draft.
The Deadline Dance
Freelancers went silent mid-project. Shawn followed up repeatedly before realizing he needed a replacement. Missing deadlines damaged client trust.
The Hiring Treadmill
Each new client meant a 2-3 week vetting process. Just when a writer understood the work, they'd disappear. The cycle repeated endlessly.
The Operations Trap
15-20 hours weekly consumed by writer management. Hours Shawn couldn't spend closing deals or developing clients. Growth stalled because he was the bottleneck.
The $96K Decision
Two potential clients were ready to sign, both needing eight articles monthly. That’s 16 more pieces on top of his current 15-20. With his setup, he’d be working 60-hour weeks just managing content.
The clients offered $96,000 in annual revenue combined. But taking them meant drowning in operations. He had tried everything before. Upwork hiring brought inconsistent quality. Content agencies were too expensive and he lost control. Training freelancers extensively just meant watching them disappear after two months.
The losses: almost $100,000 annually in turned-down work, 15-20 hours weekly trapped in operations, and constant stress about deadlines and quality. Something had to change.

Solution: The Iceberg Infrastructure (The 90% Nobody Sees)
Shawn didn’t need another freelancer. He needed what I call The Iceberg Infrastructure — a complete content operation that stays invisible to his clients while handling everything below the surface.
The concept is simple. Shawn sees publication-ready drafts that need minimal review. His clients see polished content that ranks and converts. Neither deals with the mess underneath: finding writers, managing quality control, chasing deadlines, coordinating revisions. That 90% of work happens invisibly. Shawn gets all the credit. I handle all the chaos.

How We Started
We began with a single 30-minute kickoff call. Shawn added me to his existing tools: Asana for task management, Slack for quick communication, and Google Sheets for tracking topics and deadlines. I adapted to his workflow, not the other way around.
Within that first week, I delivered the first article for review. We started the test run with two articles. Shawn provided the target keywords. I handled everything else: SERP analysis, brief creation, outline development, research, writing, editing, quality checklist, formatting with H-tags, meta descriptions, and internal linking.
Shawn’s reaction told me everything. The first draft needed maybe 10 minutes of review. He was used to spending 2-3 hours editing freelance work.

Usama has been a huge help in creating content that gets results for my clients. He writes bottom-of-funnel articles focused on high-intent keywords. They don’t just rank, they bring in the right kind of leads. He’s strategic and gets what it takes to make content that drives results in B2B SaaS. Since we started working with him, everything has become a lot easier. I highly recommend hiring him to write SEO content.
